Welcome to FourTwelve

Our youth ministry here at Main Street UMC is named FourTwelve and is based off of the verse from 1 Timothy 4:12  “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”

This verse is our guiding focus, to help us as a youth group realize that just because we are young does not mean we can’t do great things!

We are a growing group, ranging in ages from 6th grade - high school.  We play hard, but we also follow hard after God.  We, as a group, will continue to follow God in all that we do.

FourTwelve strives to be interesting, full of energy and ever changing to meet the needs of our youth. Our goal is to provide them with the tools they need to grow in their faith and deepen their relationship with Christ.

Youth Mission Statement

To inspire youth to achieve their God-given potential and develop a personal relationship with Christ through Christian fellowship and service.

Sunday School

Our Sunday school meets at 9:00 am, in the lower level of the church in our newly remodeled youth room.  We begin with a time of combined worship.  We then split into two classes.

Senior High Sunday School:
The high school students will be learning about evangelism.  What does evangelism bring to mind?  People knocking on doors or handing out papers on the sidewalk?  Well, evangelism is so much more than that.  It’s not what you think it is!  Come and find out ways that you can teach others about God.

Junior High Sunday School:
The junior highers will be learning about the basics of Christianity.  Learn about what we believe and why!

Tuesday Night Bible Study

Tuesdays - 6:00-7:00 pm - Youth Room

Beginning Oct 5 - we are studying Crazy Characters of the Bible

Every Tuesday we gather to get into God's word.  We believe that the Bible is as relevant to us today as it was when it was written.  We also know that the only way we can grow in our faith is through reading and trying to better understand God's word!

Our Bible study ranges from studying the odd stories we find in the Bible to studies of Genesis through Revelation to looking at a key verse or passage that may challenge us in our walk.

The FIRST TUESDAY of every month, we will meet at 5:30 pm for PIZZA!  Be sure to come on out for free dinner - and bring a friend!

Retreats

We take several retreats throughout the year.  These are times to grow as a group and learn about God's love for us.  We take the following retreats:

  • Ski Trip - February
  • Dare-to-Share - February
  • D-Now - March
  • Revolve (girls only!) - October
  • Fall Retreat (junior and high school)- October
Plan in joining us for these great weekends to revive your faith and renew your relationships!

Outreach

We believe that Christ came as a servant to teach us how to serve one another.  With that thought in mind, we strive to go out into our community and our world to make a difference in other people's lives by showing them the love that Christ has shown us!  We participate in the following:

  • Mission trips to the Bulgaria
  • Mission trips to Honduras
  • Raking leaves of those who cannot otherwise
  • Service project with local food pantries

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.   ~Romans 12:2
