Youth Bible Study
Youth Sunday School
Encounter Youth Choir
We meet on Wednesdays, 6:00-8:00 pm, August -May. Transportation is available within a five mile area. FourTwelve is a warm and welcoming group; we begin with a light supper. Our curriculum is designed for the needs of the students who attend. It is our goal to guide them in their walk with Jesus, and to assure them of his wonderful love and forgiveness. Our lessons use multiple means to teach Biblical principles: video, discussion, prayer, fun, crafts and music. Students do not need to be members of Main Street UMC to attend.
The Vine-High School
The Vine is a fresh new high school youth group meeting on Sundays, 6:30-8:00 pm, rooted in love & faith bringing you the gospel of Christ along with an evening packed with fun! Follow us on Instagram:
Sunday school for 6th to 12th grade is a fun and varied experience for our students. We meet on Sundays from 10:15 am to 11:00 am in the downstairs youth room. Our leaders incorporate teaching directly from the Bible, and on-line curriculum. It is our goal to talk about real-life situations so that our students have a solid Christian foundation for their future.
Encounter Youth Choir
ENCOUNTER is a youth choir ministry of Main Street United Methodist Church comprised of Christian youth from 9th through 12th grade representing 30+ churches in the Alton area dedicated to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ through the ministries of music, service, fellowship, and participation in the life of the church. Traditionally, rehearsals begin each year in January, with the first performance on Easter Sunday at Main Street United Methodist Church. Click here to be taken directly to the Encounter website.
Main Street offers a 2 year confirmation program for our youth in 7th and 8th grade. Our fun and informative classes begin in February/March and conclude in May/June (6 weeks of classes with Confirmation being held on Pentecost Sunday). Our classes meet Tuesdays after school. Confirmation is the beginning of Christian adulthood for our teens and we encourage them to continue on the never-ending journey toward Christian maturity.
